Feeling fat

Post by Wicks on Sat Jan 19, 2008 1:51 am

I am at that stage where I am looking like I have put on weight, but not looking pregnant yet. I have spent so many years dieting that I am finding it so hard not to start dieting to loose this extra weight. Does anyone else have this, or felt like this? I think once my bump becomes more obvious I will feel better, but now I just feel fat. And especially as a Weight Watchers leader I dont feel I am setting a good example to my members!!!

That is one of the worst things about pregnancy. It's that stage where your well established into your pregnancy but don't have 'the bump' just look plump ish. With everyone of my pregnancies I showed very quickly but even now at 32 weeks pregnant depending on how I am sat I just look fat, not pregnant. The moment this baby comes out I am re joining weight watchers as I had not long joined when I fell pregnant.
How long after the birth can you join?

You can join 6 weeks after the birth, as long as you have had the all clear from the doctor. There are special guidelines in place if you are breastfeeding though.

I am really looking forward to getting my bump so I am no longer just looking fat! I think people at work are just gossiping saying how I have let myself go after getting married!!

Don't quote me on it but are'nt you allowed to do gentle exersize like Yoga and Pilates when you are pregnant? When I was pregnant with my two these were'nt heard of, well by me anyway.

I think so, and things like aquanatal, which is designed for you with the bump. Swimming should do you good, cos it'll build stamina and give your joints a break from carrying the extra weight.

I feel quite fat right now. My little bump is showing but it just seems so bizarre to see it because i've always been so skinny and in a weird way it kind of wigs me out to see this bump protruding from me!
